Whistle Stop Cafe Returns

The Whistle Stop Cafe returns to the Dunnellon Depot on Friday, July 25, with Lee Bush and special guest James “Bubba” Hudson.

The doors of the depot open at 5 p.m. for visitors to enjoy a selection of food made by our volunteers. On the menu will be fried green tomatoes, Cubans and meatloaf sandwiches, nachos, gluten free veggie wraps, hobo stew and desserts. Food is served until 8 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m. and goes to 9 p.m. Admission is $5, cash only, to offset the cost of the entertainment.

You may recognize Lee Bush as a volunteer at Rainbow Springs State Park, and he’s also a talented musician. You will hear songs that are a bit folksy rock from the late 1960s to early 1970s.

The purchase of food items benefits the Greater Dunnellon Historical Society and covers ongoing maintenance and improvements of the depot and caboose.
